Chicago-Style Deep Dish Pizza - Fun and Delicious!

Let me preface this by stating the obvious: I am not a professional chef, nor am I someone who was ever a paid professional in the cooking/service industry. However, what I am is someone who enjoys food, and when it comes to food, I prefer going as authentic as possible.

While this is detailing out my food journey, I may as well begin with my new favourite dish to make - Chicago-style Deep Dish Pizza.

Sure, it might not look like much at first glance, and yes, I did in fact have enough dough to attempt to make my own calzones and pizza pockets (They tasted good, but did not turn out that well, unfortunately.)

Deep dish pizza has always been a favorite of mine, as the amount of sauce, the cheese, and the toppings all made it that much better for me. Sure, regular pizza is fine, but there's never enough sauce in my opinion.

Chicago-style (No, that isn't exactly Chicago-style, but it's close enough) Deep Dish is a hoot and a holler to make, and you do have to remember that it's Crust, Cheese, then Sauce and Toppings. Cheese keeps the sauce nice, and the sauce doesn't soak into the crust. It's a win-win for pizza all around!

Making pizza is a family-friendly pastime that people, regardless of skill level, should all try at some point in their life. The recipe for the dough is easily found online.

Just don't make one critical error I made - Spray the cookware with non-stick cooking spray before you put the dough in. You'll save yourself a headache and a half.

Anyways, as far as food goes, this one's what I call 'Aces.' Aces is the word I use when something is good or awesome, and I tend to use it a lot. Call me old-fashioned, but you'll always find me most at home in the kitchen making delicious and as-close-to-authentic-as-possible food.

What's next on my list? I don't know yet. Maybe I will find something amazing, or maybe something unique and obscure? Who knows?

Anyways, get out there, and try out making Chicago-style Deep Dish. It's delicious and fun, and you can top it with almost anything.
